Vance’s Favorability Climbs, But Few Expect a Presidential Turn Before 2028

Vice President J.D. Vance is seeing a bump in popularity, with 52% of likely voters viewing him favorably, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national survey—up three points since April. However, most voters still don’t expect Vance to take over for President Trump before the end of the current term.
While Vance enjoys strong support among Republicans (77% favorable) and a majority of Hispanic and Black voters, opinions are sharply split along party lines. Only 37% of voters consider it likely that Trump will leave office before 2028, while 49% say it’s unlikely. Vance is especially popular among conservatives and voters in their 40s, but older Americans remain skeptical about a midterm leadership shift.
Despite the uptick in approval, the poll reveals a polarized electorate navigating both party loyalty and speculation about succession.
