Trump to Meet Congressional Leaders as Shutdown Deadline Nears

President Donald Trump will meet with congressional leaders Monday at the White House as the threat of a government shutdown intensifies. The meeting comes just days after Trump canceled a prior session with Democratic leaders, escalating tensions on Capitol Hill. With government funding set to expire on September 30, both parties remain far apart on terms for a temporary spending bill, raising fears that millions of federal workers could soon face furloughs.
