Rasmussen Poll: 38% of Voters Would Blame Democrats for Government Shutdown

A new Rasmussen Reports survey shows that as Congress faces a looming funding deadline, 38% of likely U.S. voters say Democrats in Congress would bear most of the blame if the government shuts down. By contrast, 29% would point to congressional Republicans and 21% to President Donald Trump. With Senate Democrats blocking a House-passed short-term funding measure, nearly two-thirds of voters believe a shutdown is at least somewhat likely in the coming days. The poll, conducted September 21–23 among 1,199 likely voters, carries a margin of error of ±3 percentage points.
