A Simple Idea With Big Heart
The student group, known as the Odyssey Angels of Love, launched an initiative focused on spreading positive affirmations to combat bullying and negativity. Inspired by seeing hurtful messages around them, they chose to respond with something different: encouragement.
Instead of tearing people down, they set out to lift others up—one message at a time.
Turning Words Into Action
The students don’t just talk about kindness—they actively share it. They write affirmations like “you are enough” and “love yourself” on pencils, bracelets, bookmarks, and keychains, distributing them throughout their schools.
They’ve also created comfort items like stress balls and “Peace Pets,” which are given to students and even donated to organizations like Ronald McDonald House to support families going through difficult times.
A Personal Mission
For many in the group, this effort is deeply personal. Some members have experienced bullying firsthand, fueling their desire to create a more supportive and positive school environment.
They understand that while kind words may seem small, they can mean everything to someone struggling.
Building Toward Something Bigger
The group is now working to establish a National Positive Affirmations Day, proposed for the day after Labor Day—right as students return to school. Their goal is to create a nationwide moment focused on kindness, encouragement, and connection.
Even as they pursue official recognition, their mission remains unchanged: make people feel seen, valued, and supported.
Why It Matters
In a world where negativity can spread quickly, these students are choosing a different path.
