Trump Orders Flags Lowered as FBI Hunts Charlie Kirk’s Shooter

The manhunt continues for the suspect who fatally shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Federal and state authorities, including the FBI, are combing through video evidence and urging the public to share tips as they investigate what Utah’s governor has called a “political assassination.” Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of former President Donald Trump, was struck by a single round during the outdoor gathering and later pronounced dead at a hospital. Trump, who ordered flags lowered to half-staff, blamed heated Democratic rhetoric for fostering violence, while leaders from both parties condemned the attack and called for unity against political violence. Utah Valley University will remain closed through Sept. 14 as security reviews continue.
