Ticket Broker Accused of Grabbing 2,000+ Swift Tickets, Faces Federal Lawsuit

The Federal Trade Commission has sued Maryland-based Key Investment Group, accusing the broker of using fake accounts, spoofed IP addresses, and other tactics to scoop up more than 2,000 Taylor Swift tickets—along with 379,000 tickets to other events worth $57 million—and reselling them at steep markups for $64 million. Regulators say the company’s practices violated federal laws designed to protect consumers, while KIG insists the lawsuit is “regulatory overreach” and vows to fight the case in court.
