In a corner of western Maine, one man has become a familiar—and beloved—face, known not for scoring points, but for lifting spirits.

A Fixture in the Community

In Oxford Hills, a region that includes towns like Oxford and South Paris, Justin Corrente has built a reputation that stretches far beyond the sidelines.

Corrente regularly walks nearly 10 miles—each way—along Route 26 to attend local school sporting events. It’s a 2.5-hour journey, one he makes simply because he loves showing up for others.

From baseball to basketball, football to field hockey, if there’s a game, there’s a good chance Corrente is there.

More Than Just a Fan

But it’s not just his dedication that stands out—it’s how he shows up.

Corrente leads cheers, sings along with the band, and brings an energy that players and fans alike have come to count on. His presence has become part of the experience.

And then there are the hugs.

Friends and teachers say his warm, lingering embraces have a way of melting stress away—something the entire community has come to appreciate.

A Memory Like No Other

Corrente’s talents go beyond school spirit.

He’s known for his incredible memory—able to recall thousands of license plates, calculate dates, and remember details that leave people amazed.

But for those who know him best, it’s not what he remembers—it’s how he makes people feel.

Seen. Known. Appreciated.

A Community That Gives Back

While Corrente spends his days supporting others, the community returns that support in full.

There’s even a social media group dedicated to him, filled with messages of appreciation and encouragement. And those closest to him say if he ever needed help, the response would be overwhelming.

Kindness That Travels Miles

Whether he’s walking miles to a game, volunteering, or simply greeting someone with a smile, Corrente’s impact is felt in the smallest moments.

He doesn’t need a spotlight.

He just shows up.

And in doing so, he’s become a reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be complicated—it just has to be consistent.
