Only Two News Sources America Agrees On—And the Rest? A Deep Divide

A new Pew Research Center survey released this week shows just how far apart Republicans and Democrats remain when it comes to trust in the media. Of 30 national news sources studied, only Forbes and The Wall Street Journal earned more trust than distrust from both parties. Beyond that rare overlap, Americans appear deeply siloed: Democrats said they trust 23 outlets, while Republicans said the same about only eight—primarily Fox News and the Joe Rogan podcast. The results underscore the widening partisan gap in how Americans consume news and who they believe is telling the truth.
