Nearly Half of U.S. Workers Plan to Job Hunt in 2025, Survey Finds

Nearly half of American workers are eyeing a career change in the coming year, according to Bankrate’s latest Worker Intentions Survey. Despite a cooling job market that has shifted power back to employers, 48% of full-time workers or job seekers say they’re likely to look for a new role within the next 12 months. The findings reflect a mix of optimism and uncertainty: while overall employment remains steady and many workers feel secure, others are struggling with limited openings, stagnant wages, and rising concerns about job security. Younger generations, especially Gen Z and millennials, are leading the charge in considering new opportunities, with many also exploring entrepreneurship. Even as the so-called “Great Stay” keeps many in their current positions, workers are still pursuing higher pay, flexibility, and better long-term prospects.
