First Lady Calls for Calm, Unity During Minnesota Tensions

First Lady Calls for Calm Amid Minneapolis Unrest
First lady Melania Trump urged Americans to come together and reject violence as tensions remain high in Minneapolis following the fatal shootings of two civilians by federal agents. Speaking during an exclusive interview on Fox & Friends, Mrs. Trump emphasized unity, cooperation and peaceful protest.

‘We Need to Unify’
“We need to unify,” Mrs. Trump said, noting that President Donald Trump held a “great call” with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. According to the first lady, federal, state and local leaders are working together to keep the situation peaceful and prevent further unrest.

“I’m against violence,” she added. “So, please, if you protest, protest in peace.”

Support for Communities Hit by Severe Winter Storms
Mrs. Trump also addressed the massive winter storm that has impacted several states, bringing heavy snowfall, ice, frigid temperatures and widespread power outages. She expressed compassion for those affected and underscored the importance of Americans helping one another during difficult times.

“I feel deep compassion for the people who are impacted by this storm,” she said. “I know the federal government is working hard to provide assistance to all who need it.”

Promoting Upcoming Film ‘MELANIA’
The first lady joined the program live from the White House to promote her upcoming film, MELANIA, which is set for global release on Friday. The 104-minute documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at her life leading up to President Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president.

“This story was never told before,” Mrs. Trump said, explaining that the film shows how she balanced business, philanthropy, family responsibilities and preparations for the inauguration, including establishing the East Wing in just 20 days.

Message of Strength and Unity
As unrest and severe weather challenge communities across the country, Mrs. Trump said Americans must lean on one another.

“As Americans, we need to help each other and come together in these difficult times,” she said. “I send them my strength and love.”
