A Sweet Way to Give Back
In Kenmore—a village just outside Buffalo, NY—one local mechanic is proving that kindness doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it comes in the form of a simple, thoughtful gesture… and a few hundred boxes of cookies.
Putting People Before Profits
At his shop, 2480 Autos, owner Dan Deveso has built his business around a clear philosophy: people come first.
Since opening in 2007, Deveso has relied on strong community support—and now, he’s making sure to give back in a meaningful way.
A Surprise That Made a Big Difference
What started as a routine Girl Scout cookie purchase quickly turned into something much bigger. After buying 20 boxes, Deveso asked how many remained—and decided to purchase the rest.
In total, he bought around 140 boxes, contributing more than $800 to support Girl Scouts Troop 71986. For the troop, it was a major boost during their first cookie season.
More Than Just Cookies
The impact goes far beyond sales. The troop plans to use the funds to explore science projects, support seniors, help animals, and create art—turning one act of generosity into multiple opportunities for growth and service.
Meanwhile, Deveso is passing the kindness forward by giving the cookies to his customers, spreading the impact even further throughout the community.
A Simple Reminder That Resonates Nationwide
This story highlights something universal: kindness doesn’t need to be grand to be meaningful.
Deveso’s message is simple—do small, everyday acts of kindness, and the ripple effect will follow.
Because sometimes, making the world a better place starts with one decision… and one box at a time.
