Doctors are raising the alarm over a dangerous new trend sweeping TikTok and other social media platforms: DIY Botox using a product called Innotox. The injectable, which is not FDA-approved and easily purchased online for a fraction of the price of licensed treatments, is being self-administered by users with no medical training. Medical experts warn that improper use can lead to facial deformities, nerve damage, infection, and even life-threatening botulism. Unlike traditional Botox, Innotox comes pre-mixed in liquid form, making it appealing to amateurs—but doctors stress that without an expert understanding of facial anatomy, the risks far outweigh the benefits.
