Multiple Bigfoot Sightings Reported in Northeast Ohio

A cluster of reported Bigfoot sightings in northeast Ohio has sparked renewed interest among cryptid enthusiasts after several witnesses claimed to spot large, mysterious figures in wooded areas near Cleveland.
Enthusiasts say the sudden concentration of sightings could represent what cryptozoologists call a “flap” — a period where multiple sightings of a mysterious creature occur in the same area over a short time.
A Burst of Reports in a Small Area
According to the podcast’s summaries, sightings occurred between March 6 and March 10 in wooded areas near Mantua and Garrettsville in Portage County, southeast of Cleveland.
Witnesses described seeing large figures ranging from six to ten feet tall.
Some reports described brown-haired creatures, while others claimed to see darker figures moving through wooded terrain.
One witness said they heard deep grunting noises along with finding unusually large footprints, while another reported detecting a strong musky odor often associated with alleged Bigfoot encounters.
Several sightings reportedly occurred near Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park, a 167-acre park known for hiking trails and wooded landscapes.
What Cryptozoologists Call a “Flap”
Host Jeremiah Byron of the Bigfoot Society Podcast told local media that while sightings are reported across the United States, a tight cluster in a small geographic area is unusual.
In cryptozoology circles, this type of pattern is often referred to as a “flap,” suggesting a sudden spike in reports involving the legendary creature known as Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
Online posts from the Bigfoot Society community have urged residents in Portage County to stay alert, suggesting that “something may be moving through the area.”
The podcast’s online group, which has more than 280,000 members, has shared summaries of witness reports but no photos or video evidence tied to the sightings.
Excitement — and Skepticism
While reports of Bigfoot sightings regularly circulate online, scientists and wildlife experts generally note that there has never been verified scientific evidence confirming the existence of the creature.
Many sightings are ultimately attributed to misidentified animals, shadows, or hoaxes.
Still, stories of Sasquatch sightings remain part of American folklore and continue to draw interest from both believers and skeptics.
For enthusiasts, the recent Ohio reports have generated excitement, with some saying the concentration of sightings is the most significant they’ve seen in years.
Whether the sightings represent something unusual — or simply a burst of speculation — remains uncertain.
But for now, the mystery has certainly captured the attention of the Bigfoot community.
