As America begins gearing up for its 250th anniversary celebration, one bluegrass group is leaning fully into patriotism, tradition, and the unmistakable spirit of Americana.
The Kody Norris Show has officially premiered the music video for its newest single, “Good Ol’ USA,” a high-energy tribute to faith, freedom, and the pride many Americans still feel when they look at the country’s history and future.
The video, filmed at the iconic Mount Rushmore, recently debuted on RFD-TV and was also featured by Taste of Country as part of its “Top 10 Video Countdown.”
A Patriotic Soundtrack for America250
Released through Rebel Records, “Good Ol’ USA” serves as the latest preview of the band’s upcoming album, Spirit of America, scheduled for release on June 26.
Written by Kody Norris and Larry Chunn, the song arrives during a time when communities across the country are beginning to plan celebrations surrounding America250 — the upcoming semiquincentennial marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Rather than taking a quiet or reflective approach, The Kody Norris Show leans into bold energy, rhinestone-covered style, and traditional bluegrass instrumentation to create a celebration of American identity that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
The sweeping visuals of Mount Rushmore add another layer to the production, tying the song directly to some of the most recognizable imagery in the country’s history.
“‘Good Ol’ USA’ embodies all the feelings of celebrating America250,” said Kody Norris. “When we began seeking out locations to film a music video we wanted something iconic that would make a statement.”
More Than Just a Music Video
For the band, filming at Mount Rushmore wasn’t simply about finding a scenic backdrop.
According to Norris, the production involved “monumental challenges,” extensive travel, and coordination with park rangers to make the vision possible. But the effort ultimately reflected the larger theme behind both the single and the upcoming album — honoring the people, stories, and traditions that continue shaping the American experience.
The forthcoming Spirit of America project promises to build on those themes throughout the full collection of songs, touching on home, faith, service, unity, and heritage.
At a time when much of the entertainment industry often steers away from overt patriotism, The Kody Norris Show appears to be embracing it unapologetically — and finding an audience eager for it.
Taking the Celebration Nationwide
The band is also bringing that patriotic energy directly to fans through its 2026 Spirit of America tour, which includes more than 60 performances across 20 states.
Stops include bluegrass festivals, theaters, and music events stretching from Tennessee and Texas to Colorado, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and the Carolinas. One of the biggest highlights will be the group’s first-ever appearance at RockyGrass in Colorado alongside legendary acts including Punch Brothers, The Del McCoury Band, Tim O’Brien, and Steep Canyon Rangers.
The extensive tour schedule reflects the band’s growing national profile within the bluegrass world.
Over the past several years, The Kody Norris Show has built a reputation for combining traditional musicianship with flashy stage presence and crowd-driven performances. Their albums All Suited Up and Rhinestone Revival both landed on Billboard’s bluegrass charts, while the group has also earned recognition from organizations including the IBMA and SPBGMA.
As America250 celebrations continue gaining momentum nationwide, “Good Ol’ USA” may end up becoming one of the musical soundtracks tied to the occasion — blending classic bluegrass roots with a modern celebration of American culture.
