Baby Meets Cat Boss

A Cozy Takeover at Home
A new mom recently captured a moment many pet owners can relate to—when a curious cat decides the baby’s things are suddenly fair game. In a now-viral video shared by @gloriacentanni, a lovable tabby cat made herself right at home on a newborn’s specially designed pillow, curling up as if it had been hers all along.

“This Is Mine Now” Energy
As the baby’s mother gently tried to reclaim the pillow, asking if she could place her newborn there, the cat responded with a firm (and very vocal) protest. The message was clear: she had discovered a new favorite spot—and she wasn’t eager to share. Eventually, the baby and cat ended up side by side, though the feline seemed less than thrilled about the arrangement, holding her ground with a hilariously possessive expression.

Why Cats Love Baby Items
It may look like mischief, but there’s a reason behind the behavior. Cats are naturally curious and drawn to anything new in their environment. Baby items, in particular, check all the boxes—they’re soft, warm, and carry unfamiliar scents that spark a cat’s interest. A plush pillow, especially one designed for comfort, is practically irresistible for a cat looking for the perfect nap spot.

Cute—but With a Caution
While moments like this are undeniably adorable, they also come with an important reminder. Experts often advise that pets and newborns should never be left alone together. Giving cats time to adjust to a new baby—and allowing them to explore new items gradually—can help create a safe and harmonious environment for everyone.

In this case, the tabby may have claimed the pillow first—but it looks like she’s slowly learning to share her new favorite spot.
