A Big Year Ahead for Global Travelers
If 2026 is your year to explore, major airlines are already paving the way. United, Delta, American Airlines, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, and Southwest are rolling out an impressive list of new domestic and international routes—giving travelers more choices, more convenience, and more ways to reach bucket-list destinations.
International Expansions Lead the Way
United Airlines is making the biggest splash with four new European summer routes out of Newark, plus a new year-round connection from Washington-Dulles to Reykjavik. Even more notable, United will become the only U.S. airline to offer nonstop service between Newark/New York and Seoul beginning September 4.
American Airlines is stepping into 2026 with innovation, offering a new JFK-to-Edinburgh route aboard its ultra-modern Airbus A321XLR—marking the aircraft’s first international use by a U.S. carrier. Air Canada is also growing its map, adding new European summer routes and expanding Asian travel with year-round service to Shanghai and Bangkok.
Delta joins the global expansion by launching a daily Los Angeles–Hong Kong nonstop in June 2026, with broader growth anticipated across major Asian hubs.
Domestic Travel Gets a Boost
Closer to home, Alaska Airlines is strengthening its West Coast presence with new connections beginning in March and May. Southwest is also gearing up for a huge summer, rolling out expanded domestic frequencies, three new Las Vegas international routes, and its first-ever service to Alaska.
Delta is adding dozens of new Saturday-only leisure routes across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean—perfect for long-weekend getaways and national park adventures.
More Options, More Adventures
With expanded access to Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and U.S. favorites, 2026 is shaping up to be a milestone year for travel. Whether you’re planning a summer escape or a new global adventure, these routes offer fresh possibilities to explore the world.
