Shooter Targets Dallas ICE Facility, Motive Remains Unclear

The motives behind a deadly rooftop shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas remain unclear, authorities said Wednesday. A gunman, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, opened fire on a detainee van in the sallyport area of the building, killing one detainee and critically injuring two others before taking his own life. No ICE personnel were hurt. Federal officials confirmed the attack was being investigated as an act of targeted violence, with a bullet inscribed “ANTI-ICE” found at the scene. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has ordered heightened security at ICE facilities nationwide in the wake of the incident, which comes amid a recent rise in violent attacks on immigration enforcement sites.
