Sen. John Jasinski Recognized for Championing Minnesota Communities

State Sen. John Jasinski has been honored as a 2025 Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC). He received the recognition during the Medford City Council meeting, where Mayor Danny Thomas praised his consistent support for local communities. Jasinski was chosen for his efforts to ease the financial burden on cities by backing legislation that eliminated local taxpayer obligations on portions of trunk highway projects, paving the way for a fairer cost-sharing model with MnDOT. His work also helped secure bonding dollars to finance major projects, including the Owatonna-Medford Wastewater Regionalization project. The award places Jasinski among 28 state lawmakers recognized this year for championing city priorities and strengthening the partnership between state government and local municipalities.
