Pennsylvania’s Worthington Mill Bridge Dedicated in Honor of Col. Daniel “Larry” Rubini

Beneath a crisp autumn sky, community members, veterans, and local leaders gathered to pay tribute to Beneath clear autumn skies, community members, veterans, and local leaders gathered this week to honor a man whose life reflected service, courage, and integrity. The Worthington Mill Bridge in Bucks County now bears a new name—the Col. Daniel “Larry” Rubini Bridge—in tribute to a beloved resident whose decades of military and civic service left a lasting mark both at home and abroad.

The ceremony, held along Worthington Mill Road in Wrightstown Township, was attended by members of Col. Rubini’s family, military colleagues, and state officials, including Rep. Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks) and Sen. Frank Farry (R-Bucks). Together, they reflected on a life that bridged continents, communities, and causes.

A Career Defined by Service

Col. Daniel Laurence “Larry” Rubini dedicated more than 30 years to the U.S. Army Reserves, serving as both a judge advocate general and civil affairs officer. His assignments took him around the world in support of American diplomacy, humanitarian missions, and post-conflict reconstruction.

His deployments included Operation Desert Storm, Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served as a senior advisor to Iraq’s Ministry of Justice—helping to rebuild the country’s judicial system and strengthen the rule of law after conflict.

Col. Rubini spent his life building connections between people, institutions and nations,” said Rep. Marcell. “Naming this bridge in his honor is a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated his career to public service, international cooperation and the rule of law.

Sen. Farry echoed that sentiment, noting that “Larry’s legacy reminds us that service comes in many forms and that its impact can stretch far beyond borders and generations. We are grateful for all he gave and proud to help preserve his memory.

A Bridge of Connection and Purpose

Speaking after the ceremony, Marcell reflected on the meaning behind dedicating a bridge in Rubini’s name.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the bridge dedication ceremony in memory of Colonel Daniel L. Rubini,” she said. “It was a privilege to gather with his family, fellow veterans, and members of our community to reflect on his extraordinary life of service. From the front lines of Operation Desert Storm to his work in Iraq as a Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Justice, Colonel Rubini’s decades of military and civilian service stand as a powerful example of courage, leadership, and lasting impact. It was fitting to dedicate a bridge in his name—a symbol of connection and purpose that mirrors how he spent his life bringing people, institutions, and nations together.

Marcell added, “We are grateful to all who came to show their support and respect. The ceremony was a meaningful reminder of the values Colonel Rubini lived by and the legacy he leaves behind.

A Life of Dedication Beyond Uniform

In addition to his military service, Rubini practiced law and served as an administrative law judge. His devotion to justice, fairness, and service extended into his work as a veterans’ advocate and civic leader in Bucks County.

He was instrumental in supporting the establishment of Washington Crossing National Cemetery, ensuring that local veterans and their families would have a place of honor close to home. Those who knew him recall a man who led with quiet conviction, integrity, and humility—traits reflected in the community that came together to remember him.

A Lasting Tribute

The newly named Col. Daniel “Larry” Rubini Bridge stands as both a physical and symbolic link—connecting communities just as he connected people throughout his life.

For everyone who crosses Worthington Mill Road, the sign now serves as a daily reminder of a man whose courage and compassion built bridges that will endure for generations.
