Robby Johnson Releases Heartfelt New Single “You Pick The Flowers”

Country music singer-songwriter Robby Johnson is back with a new track that’s striking a chord with fans and radio stations alike. His latest single, “You Pick The Flowers,” released Friday via The Nashville Record Company, is already garnering praise for its emotional depth, romantic imagery, and universal message of love, longing, and second chances.

Premiered by Center Stage Magazine, “You Pick The Flowers” invites listeners into the deeply personal vision of a wedding day that never happened. With lyrics that recall the dreams of vows, rings, and forever, Johnson delivers a mid-tempo ballad that feels tailor-made for couples—especially those walking down the aisle or dancing their first dance. But beyond its surface, the song also captures the bittersweet ache of what could have been.

“This song became my way of giving life to that vision,” Johnson shared. “Every lyric is part of the moment I always dreamed of.”

Critics and DJs have taken notice. KWCK 99.9 FM’s Greg Geary called the song “a diamond,” while Bill Miller from The Rosie & Bill Show praised Johnson’s vivid lyricism, urging listeners to “try listening to the song with your eyes closed.” GodTube’s Brandon Woolum described the track as “romantic, heartfelt, and beautifully original,” saying it’s the perfect soundtrack for couples wanting to make their moment unforgettable.

“You Pick The Flowers” follows a series of successful singles from Johnson, including the emotionally charged “If Barstools Could Cry,” which premiered on Whiskey Riff, as well as fan favorites like “TGIF,” “More Than You Think,” and his holiday hit “Oh! Santa, Please.”

Johnson has made a name for himself not just with his powerful voice and emotional storytelling, but with a live presence that’s drawn comparisons to Garth Brooks and Keith Urban. His musical journey—marked by grit, transformation, and undeniable talent—has earned him national recognition, millions of views and streams, and appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, FOX News Channel’s Huckabee, USA Today, Rolling Stone Country, and The Tennessean.

Originally from Canada, Johnson left behind a job in a manufacturing plant after a Christmas gift—his first demo session—revealed a raw musical gift. Since moving to Nashville in 2012, he’s worked with industry greats like Jimmy Nichols, Frank Myers, and James Stroud, while also collaborating with icons like Vince Gill on his debut album Don’t Look Back.

“You Pick The Flowers” sets the tone for his upcoming full-length album, a project that promises to further showcase his unique blend of classic country storytelling and modern production. As Johnson continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: his passion for painting life’s most tender moments in melody and verse.
