Jordan and Teshka Step Into New Roles on Indiana’s Summer Study Committees

State Representatives Jack Jordan and Jake Teshka have been appointed to serve on several interim study committees that will meet over the coming months to examine important policy matters ahead of Indiana’s 2026 legislative session.
These committees, made up of lawmakers from across the state, will gather testimony from experts, stakeholders, and members of the public as they work to identify solutions to pressing issues and develop legislative recommendations.
Rep. Jordan will serve on the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy. With Indiana maintaining a balanced budget for the next two years, he emphasized the importance of continuing to manage taxpayer dollars wisely.
“During the summer, lawmakers will continue to look at ways to make government more efficient and use taxpayer dollars wisely,” Jordan said.
Rep. Teshka received appointments to three different bodies: the Interim Study Committee on Education, the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance, and the Midwest Continental Divide Commission Board.
“Interim study committees are an opportunity to take a deep dive on issues affecting Hoosiers and work on legislation ahead of the next session,” Teshka said. “I look forward to hearing from community members on these topics and continuing efforts to improve our region and state.”
Study committees are a vital part of Indiana’s legislative process, often serving as the launching point for key bills introduced in future sessions. Agendas, meeting dates, and topics under consideration for 2025 are available through the Indiana General Assembly’s website at iga.in.gov.
