Fast Food Isn’t the Future: Why We Must Teach the Next Generation Better Habits Now

We are living in a world where fast food is cheaper than fresh produce, energy drinks are marketed like candy, and the concept of “quick and easy” has replaced “nourishing and wise.” As the CEO of RB Coaching, I’ve worked with countless men and women whose health struggles didn’t begin in their 30s or 40s—they began in childhood. The habits we instill when our kids are young shape the bodies, minds, and choices they carry into adulthood.
And right now? Our kids are under attack.
Everywhere they turn—on their phones, on billboards, in vending machines at school—they’re bombarded with images of greasy burgers, sugary drinks, and processed snacks masked as “healthy” with clever labeling. What looks like convenience today becomes consequences tomorrow. The truth is, the fast food that saves time now will cost them energy, confidence, and even years off their lives down the road.
Education Is the First Line of Defense
We cannot sit back and let marketing companies raise our children. It is our responsibility—as parents, coaches, educators, and leaders—to give the younger generation the truth. They deserve to know what they’re putting in their bodies and how it will affect them—not just on the scale, but in their mood, focus, skin, hormones, and long-term health.
At RB Coaching, we believe in whole-body transformation—and that starts with education.
Kids need to understand:
- Food is fuel, not filler.
- What they eat today impacts how they feel and function tomorrow.
- The body and brain depend on real, whole food to thrive.
When we give them the “why” behind healthy choices, we empower them to take ownership of their health. And the sooner we start, the stronger they’ll become—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Fast Food = Long-Term Damage
Let’s be real: fast food is designed to be addictive. High salt, high sugar, low nutrition—it’s the perfect storm for weight gain, sluggish energy, poor digestion, and even depression. And while a burger here or there won’t destroy a child’s health, regular consumption sets a dangerous pattern that’s hard to break.
We’re seeing kids with adult diseases: high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, anxiety, sleep disorders. That’s not normal. That’s a red flag that we need to pay attention to.
It Starts With Us*
Our kids are watching what we do more than they’re listening to what we say. If we want them to care for their bodies, we have to lead by example. Pack the lunches. Cook together. Read the labels. Talk about ingredients. Celebrate movement, not just appearance.
The goal isn’t to create fear around food—it’s to build awareness and ownership. Because when a young person understands how to care for their body and mind, they walk taller. They think clearer. They lead better.
We aren’t just raising children—we’re shaping the future. Let’s make sure that the future is strong, educated, and unapologetically healthy.
