Golden Generations Shine in Heartfelt “Elvira” Music Video

Country and Gospel Music Hall of Famer William Lee Golden, best known as a member of the Oak Ridge Boys, has released a powerful new music video with his family band, The Goldens, for their rendition of the iconic hit “Elvira.” Premiered exclusively by Cowboys & Indians, the video adds an emotional new chapter to the song’s storied history—featuring Golden’s grandson Elijah on lead vocals and paying tribute to late family member Rusty Golden.

Directed by Jeff Panzer, the video showcases several generations of the Golden family, with appearances by Elijah, Elizabeth, and Chris Golden, alongside longtime collaborator Aaron McCune. The inclusion of footage featuring Rusty Golden—who passed away one year ago—lends the project an especially poignant tone.

“When we decided to record our version of ‘Elvira,’ it was one that I knew would sound the best with my grandson, Elijah, on lead vocals,” said William Lee Golden. “He grew up loving this song. We wanted to feature him in the video, even though he’s been away at college at Brown University. We felt it was only right to also honor my son Rusty and Joe Bonsall, who both passed within a week of each other last year. I love and miss them both very much.”

The new video comes on the heels of another major milestone for the band: their induction into the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame (NACMAI). William Lee, joined by his son Chris and granddaughter Elizabeth, performed selections from their Golden Classics album collection at the ceremony, sharing the honor with Billy Dean, Marty Raybon of Shenandoah, and Mark Wills.

Golden Classics, the group’s three-album collection, showcases a lifetime of musical inspiration and family tradition. From gospel treasures like “Old Country Church” to country favorites like “You Are My Sunshine,” the collection features reinterpretations of beloved songs that reflect William Lee’s storied career and deep Southern roots. Other standout tracks include “Stand By Me,” “Take Me Home Country Roads,” and “The Long And Winding Road.”
