Utah Suspect in Charlie Kirk Killing Set for Court Appearance, Charges Pending

Formal charges are expected to be filed today against Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a Utah Valley University event on Sept. 10. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray is set to announce the charges at a late-morning press conference, coinciding with Robinson’s first court appearance. Robinson, who was arrested last week on suspicion of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice, remains in custody as investigators continue to review electronic evidence and weigh possible federal charges. Authorities have not confirmed a motive, though officials say Robinson showed troubling signs of political radicalization in the weeks leading up to the attack.
