Prejuvenation’ Craze: Inside the Plastic Surgery Surge Among Women Under 30

Younger Women Turn to Major Procedures
Simone Biles’ recent reveal of her cosmetic work has put a spotlight on a fast-growing trend: women in their 20s and early 30s choosing surgeries once reserved for their mothers and grandmothers. Many say the pressure to look youthful — amplified by social media filters and flawless influencers — is pushing them toward earlier, more aggressive interventions.
Influencers Lead the Charge
Toronto influencer Emily Cipryk is among the most visible examples. At 28, she spent nearly $16,000 on a mid-face lift, blepharoplasty, lip lift, rhinoplasty, and more — procedures typically associated with women decades older. After seeing “perfect women” online, she flew to Turkey, documented the intense recovery on TikTok, and sparked widespread debate about whether young faces should be surgically altered so soon.
Confidence Boost or Cultural Pressure?
Other young women say the decision came from long-held insecurities. NYC injector Revian Chang opted for chin liposuction before her wedding, calling the results confidence-boosting. Hannah Swanson, 30, said chin lipo “changed her life” after years of struggling with her profile. Toronto marketing professional Aaliyah Ximines chose lower blepharoplasty at 28 to address hereditary under-eye bags after temporary treatments stopped working.
Experts Warn of Long-Term Risks
Plastic surgeons and mental health professionals remain uneasy. They caution that operating too early can affect how the face ages — and that the trend reinforces unrealistic beauty standards. But women undergoing these procedures insist it’s about feeling like the “best version” of themselves now.
