As fireworks lit up the sky last night for Independence Day, a new Rasmussen Reports survey reveals a somber truth—many Americans believe our Founding Fathers wouldn’t be impressed. Just 36% of adults think the Founders would view America today as a success, while 41% say they’d see it as a failure. Fewer Americans also consider the Fourth of July among the nation’s most important holidays, down from last year. The data reflects growing concerns about patriotism, national identity, and the country’s direction—raising the question: What would the Founders really think?
