Nicole Kidman Makes First Public Appearance Since Divorce Filing

Stepping Out for a Cause
Just days after filing for divorce from Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman made her first public appearance at the amFAR charity auction in Dallas on Saturday, October 4. The Oscar-winning actress attended the star-studded event to support the foundation’s mission to advance AIDS research and prevention efforts worldwide.
Honoring Taylor Sheridan
Kidman, 57, took the stage to present Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, 55, with the evening’s Award of Inspiration during the benefit, which was hosted at the home of United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby. Other notable guests included Diana Ross, Teri Hatcher — who hosted the event — and Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki.
A Graceful Public Return
The appearance came just four days after Kidman filed for divorce from Urban, citing irreconcilable differences following their separation earlier this summer. The couple, who married in 2006, share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Court filings indicate Kidman has requested to be the primary residential parent.
Family Support Amid Change
Sources close to the family told People that Kidman had been “stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public” but has remained calm and focused on her daughters. Her sister, Antonia Kidman, has reportedly been a strong source of support during the transition.
Looking Ahead
While Urban has continued performing — recently appearing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas — Kidman is said to be concentrating on her upcoming film projects and her family.
The Dallas appearance marked a poised and purposeful return to the public eye for the actress, who balanced grace and compassion while honoring Sheridan’s storytelling legacy and amFAR’s vital cause.
