Majority of Young Voters Embrace Socialism Ahead of 2028 Race

A new Rasmussen Reports/StoppingSocialism.com survey shows a striking generational divide in U.S. politics: a majority of Americans under 40 now favor socialist policies and candidates. The poll found that 53% of voters ages 18 to 39 would like to see a democratic socialist win the presidency in 2028, with three-quarters supporting the nationalization of major industries like healthcare, energy, and big tech. Rising housing costs, economic inequality, and frustration with corporations and wealthier Americans were cited as leading reasons. While Kamala Harris leads among Democratic presidential hopefuls in this age group, the growing embrace of socialism signals a dramatic shift that could shape the nation’s political future.
