Kentucky Police Chiefs Honor Nine State Senators for Public Safety Leadership

Nine Kentucky state senators, including Northern Kentucky’s Shelley Funke Frommeyer of Alexandria and Steve Rawlings of Burlington, have been recognized with the 2025 Outstanding Legislative Service Award from the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP) for their leadership and commitment to public safety. Joining them are Senate Majority Floor Leader Max Wise, Senate Majority Caucus Chair Robby Mills, and Senators Michael Nemes, Scott Madon, Matt Nunn, Jimmy Higdon, and Matthew Deneen. KACP called the 2025 session one of the most impactful in recent memory for law enforcement, noting the legislators’ roles in advancing measures to modernize personnel policies, improve officer benefits, protect sensitive information, and secure funding for essential equipment and training. “These legislators were instrumental in championing legislation that supports our officers, protects our communities, and addresses the needs of law enforcement agencies across the commonwealth,” said Chief Shawn Butler (Ret.), KACP executive director.
