Idaho Firefighter Remembered for Kindness and Service

A community in eastern Idaho is mourning the loss of a young firefighter whose life was defined by service, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others.

In Rigby, family, friends, and neighbors are remembering Hunter Jensen not just for how he lived — but for how he made people feel.

A Heart for Helping Others

Hunter Jensen, 25, passed away on March 17, leaving behind his wife and two young daughters.

Those closest to him say kindness came naturally. From a young age, he went out of his way to include others — even learning sign language in kindergarten so he could communicate with a classmate who needed a friend.

A Calling to Serve

Jensen’s passion for helping others carried into adulthood.

He served his community for eight years as a firefighter and EMT with Central Fire District, eventually earning a full-time position.

Whether responding to emergencies or supporting those in need, loved ones say he approached every moment with dedication and heart.

A Family Man First

While he served his community, Jensen’s greatest pride was his family.

He leaves behind his wife, Alexess, and their two young daughters, who were at the center of his world.

Friends and family describe him as deeply devoted — someone who loved fully and gave selflessly.

A Community Comes Together

In the days following his passing, the community has rallied around Jensen’s family, offering support, prayers, and assistance during an incredibly difficult time.

His wife, also a volunteer firefighter, has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of kindness and encouraged continued support for first responders affected by the loss.

A Legacy That Lives On

Though his life was cut short, Jensen’s impact continues to resonate.

Through the lives he touched, the people he helped, and the love he shared, his legacy is one of service, strength, and compassion.

In Rigby, that legacy will not be forgotten.
