Freed Hostage Praises Trump for His Release After Years in Taliban Captivity

After spending two and a half years in Taliban captivity, George Glezmann, an airline mechanic, expressed his immense gratitude for former President Donald Trump’s role in securing his freedom. Following his release through negotiations brokered by the U.S. State Department, Glezmann credited Trump and key lawmakers for his return home, stating, “Thank God he’s in the White House.” Glezmann had been taken hostage in December 2022 while visiting Afghanistan, and his family’s years of pleas for action from the Biden administration were met with little response. Glezmann’s emotional statement highlights his deep appreciation for those who helped bring him back to freedom.
