Faith at Work: Trump Team Expands Religious Rights for Government Employees

The Trump administration is expanding religious freedom in the federal workplace. A new memo from the Office of Personnel Management affirms that federal employees can openly express and promote their religious beliefs at work—including proselytizing and organizing prayer groups—so long as the behavior isn’t harassing. The guidance follows President Trump’s February executive order directing agencies to eliminate what he called the “anti-Christian weaponization of government.” While the memo isn’t legally binding, it signals a continued effort by the administration to elevate religious expression within federal institutions.
