A new Rasmussen survey reveals deep divisions over the Trump administration’s controversial immigrant detention site in the Florida Everglades, nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz.” While 48% of likely voters approve of the plan—including 80% of Republicans—46% disapprove, with strong opposition from Democrats and a slim majority of independents. The facility, expected to house up to 5,000 detainees awaiting deportation, was formally opened by President Trump on July 1. As the debate heats up, the political divide shows no signs of cooling.
