Michael Echols

Michael Echols is a Bastrop native, businessman, and Louisiana House Representative for District 14, covering Ouachita Parish. Elected in 2019, he serves on multiple committees, including the Republican Executive Committee, Health and Welfare, Labor and Industrial Relations, and Civil Law. Echols has an extensive background in leadership and public service: Director of Business Development for Affinity Health Group and Vantage Health Plan Former Monroe City Councilman (2016-2020) and Past Council Chairman Graduate of ULM with degrees in Accounting and an MBA Chief Operating Officer for a financial services firm Active in various boards and organizations, including the Monroe Rotary, Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, and North Louisiana Economic Partnership Past President of Downtown Monroe Renaissance, Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Louisiana State Arts Council Recognized with several awards, including the Monroe Chamber James Shipp Young Business Leader Award and the Louisiana Lieutenant Governor’s Passion for Culture Award, Echols is passionate about historic preservation and community development. He and his wife Christie, an architect, have two daughters, Amelia and Everly.
