As summer break leaves thousands of Michigan kids without access to school meals, the Greater Lansing Food Bank is stepping in to fight seasonal hunger. Through its Weekend Kits program—offering up to eight kid-friendly, non-perishable meals at no cost—the organization aims to support more than 24,000 children who may go without. No eligibility requirements, no barriers—just real help. Their recent Hunger Phone-a-Thon raised awareness and funds, showing how even an $8 donation can make a tangible difference.
