Missouri Rep. Alex Riley Announces Run for House Speaker in 2027

State Rep. Alex Riley, the current House Majority Leader for Missouri, has announced his plans to run for House Speaker in 2027. Representing District 134, which includes parts of Springfield and Greene County, Riley has served in the Missouri House since 2021. If elected to a fourth term in 2026, Riley will vie for the position of speaker, following the term-limited departure of current Speaker Jon Patterson. Riley will officially launch his campaign for speaker on June 12, 2025, in Springfield.
