Celebrate Today… or Don’t. It’s Blasé Day.

Today’s a Whole Mood, Y’all

If you woke up this morning and wondered, “What exactly am I supposed to be celebrating today?”—well, brace yourself. The universe has delivered a delightful grab-bag of oddball holidays tailor-made for the offbeat among us. And lucky for you, I, Georgia Dale, am here to guide you through the charming nonsense that is National Parfait Day, Shopping Reminder Day, and Blasé Day.

It’s a trio so mismatched, so eclectic, and so downright entertaining, it feels like the holiday equivalent of a potluck where somebody brings a show-stopping cheesecake, somebody else brings a single napkin, and a third person shows up empty-handed saying, “I brought good vibes.”

Let’s dive in.

National Parfait Day: The Layered Legacy We Didn’t Know We Needed

Today, we honor the most optimistic dessert in the history of chilled glassware: the parfait. A delightful tower of yogurt, fruit, and granola, always layered with the kind of precision usually reserved for architects and wedding cake designers.

For all its elegance, the parfait’s downfall is gravity. You get—at best—five seconds of perfection before it collapses into a fruity avalanche. But bless its heart, it tries. Parfaits are the dessert world’s straight-A students: photogenic, well-behaved, and here to remind the rest of us to try a little harder.

If you’re feeling bold, build your own today. Make it fancy. Make it tall. Make it so structurally sound that the Leaning Tower of Pisa gets jealous. Or, like most of us, grab one pre-made and pretend you handcrafted every layer with intention and artistry. I support both paths.

Shopping Reminder Day: A National Nudge for All Procrastinators

Just when you thought the holiday season couldn’t get any pushier, along comes Shopping Reminder Day, tapping you on the shoulder like a friendly—but slightly judgmental—neighbor:

“Hi! Have you bought… literally anything yet?”

And many of us are responding with a sincere, “No, and also please stop looking at me like that.”

This holiday exists purely to remind you that time is passing, shipping delays are real, and your gift list is not getting any shorter. But if you’re a world-class procrastinator, fear not—you’re simply building suspense. Your shopping journey has suspense, mystery, intrigue. It’s giving Hallmark movie, but with more caffeine and less snow.

Today is the perfect moment to start. Or think about starting. Or think about thinking about starting. It counts.

Blasé Day: The Real MVP

Now let’s talk about today’s crown jewel: Blasé Day. A celebration for everyone who looked around this morning and said, “Eh.”

Blasé Day encourages total emotional neutrality. It’s the holiday equivalent of staring out a window for three minutes with soft jazz playing faintly in the background.

Laundry?
Meh.

Dishes?
Eh.

Phone buzzing with three notifications and a voicemail?
Not my business today.

This is the spiritual reset we all need, especially smack-dab in the middle of the pre-holiday sprint. Blasé Day pairs wonderfully with Shopping Reminder Day, because acknowledging your responsibilities and then choosing not to engage with them is an art form.

So take a breath. Sip something warm. Embrace the glorious power of caring just a tiny bit less—at least until tomorrow.

A Perfectly Imperfect Trio

Today’s trifecta of offbeat celebrations says everything about the human spirit:

  • We crave sweetness (National Parfait Day)
  • We procrastinate (Shopping Reminder Day)
  • And sometimes, we simply cannot be bothered (Blasé Day)

It’s layered, delayed, and delightfully apathetic—just like life.

Celebrate however your heart desires. Build a parfait. Buy a gift. Ignore a chore. Better yet—do all three and call it balance.

Bless it all. See y’all next week.
