Karen Waldrup’s New Video “Blue Cowboy Boots” Celebrates Southern Style and Female Empowerment

Country Soul artist and viral sensation Karen Waldrup is kicking off the summer in signature style—literally—with the release of her vibrant new music video for “Blue Cowboy Boots.” The video premiered digitally this week on Taste of Country and made its television debut Wednesday evening on The Heartland Network’s Country Music Today at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Filmed in the heart of Louisiana during Mardi Gras and at the Louisiana Crawfish Festival, the video captures the spirit of celebration, resilience, and individuality—all wrapped in a pair of Waldrup’s signature blue boots. With sweeping shots from the parade route, high-energy moments on stage, and plenty of Louisiana flavor, the video showcases Waldrup doing what she does best: connecting with fans through authentic storytelling and a feel-good beat.

“The music video for ‘Blue Cowboy Boots’ is a true gift from my Louisiana roots,” Waldrup shared. “We filmed it while I was riding as the Grand Marshall in a 2025 Mardi Gras parade and on stage at a crawfish festival. It’s all about having a good time and celebrating individuality. You’re not blue anymore when you’re in blue cowboy boots.”

Co-written by Waldrup and GRAMMY-nominated songwriter Ed Hill (Trisha Yearwood, Tracy Lawrence, Luke Bryan), the single was produced by John Piniero and mixed by Ed Seay. It’s already turning heads for its empowering lyrics, which blend sass and soul in true Waldrup fashion:
