Saturday Brain Boost: Fun Facts to Make You Think! Saturday March 1, 2025

Did you know? A group of flamingos is called a ‘flamboyance’! ✨
Flamingos are already some of the flashiest birds on the planet with their bright pink feathers, long legs, and unique beaks—but their collective name makes them even cooler! When these social birds gather in large groups, they aren’t just called a flock—they’re a flamboyance! 🎭
But that’s not all—flamingos get their signature pink color from their diet. They eat algae and small crustaceans rich in beta-carotene (the same pigment that makes carrots orange!), which turns their feathers pink over time. Without these nutrients, flamingos would actually be gray!
What’s your favorite funny or unique animal group name? A murder of crows? A parliament of owls? Drop your favorite below! ⬇️ 🦉🐧🐺
