Colorado Senator Vows to Keep Fighting After Cancer Diagnosis

Yesterday, when Senator Lisa Frizell addressed the floor of the Colorado State Senate, she shared the news of her stage I breast cancer diagnosis but made it clear that she remains fully committed to serving her constituents. “I am not going anywhere, and I’m going to be fine,” Frizell assured, emphasizing her accountability to the people of Senate District 2.

Despite the diagnosis, Senator Frizell vowed to continue her work without interruption. Senate Minority Leader Paul Lundeen praised her resilience, calling her a “fighter” who consistently delivers for her district and the state.

Frizell also used the moment to encourage Colorado women to prioritize their health, stressing the importance of routine screenings. “I have a heart of gratitude that my cancer has been caught early because of a routine screening,” she said. “Get a mammogram every year. Do it because it can save your life.”

With strong support from her colleagues, Senator Frizell remains determined to face this challenge head-on while continuing to advocate for the people of Colorado.
