Governor Glenn Youngkin Launches ‘Virginia Has Jobs’ Initiative to Boost Employment Opportunities in the Commonwealth

Earlier today, Governor Glenn Youngkin unveiled “Virginia Has Jobs,” a new initiative aimed at strengthening Virginia’s workforce by connecting job seekers with the Commonwealth’s growing employment opportunities. The initiative emphasizes Virginia’s status as a top business destination, with over 250,000 open jobs available across industries including technology, healthcare, and manufacturing.

Governor Youngkin also announced a Federal Worker Support Resource Package to assist Virginians affected by federal workforce changes. The package includes job placement assistance through Virginia Works, virtual job fairs, unemployment insurance resources, and credential programs through the Virginia Community College System.

“Our focus on workforce development has made Virginia the best place for business, with a labor force participation rate higher than our competitor states,” said Secretary of Labor G. Bryan Slater. Secretary of Commerce and Trade Caren Merrick echoed this, noting Virginia’s thriving economy, business-friendly policies, and ongoing investment in infrastructure.

The initiative and support resources are accessible at www.VirginiaHasJobs.com. Federal workers can find assistance at www.governor.virginia.gov/federalworkersupport.
